All products and services used by humans today are closely connected to the legal frameworks that support and govern them. Currently, many countries are implementing laws and policies to strengthen the competitiveness and social acceptance of AI, including both promotional measures that build human and physical infrastructure and regulatory measures designed to prevent and address emerging social issues. Korea’s AI industry can thrive only when it is grounded in legal and policy research that takes into account both international trends and Korea’s unique institutional and social characteristics. On the other hand, AI is increasingly replacing or augmenting human decision-making across a wide range of fields. For humans, whose cognitive characteristics differ fundamentally from those of AI, this development may create new uncertainties, but it also presents opportunities to address complex problems that have previously been difficult to solve. Therefore, we aim to explore methodologies for leveraging AI technologies to enhance legal systems and improve the processes through which policy issues are identified, analyzed, and resolved.
